Genetics Guarantee
So I've been trying pretty hard to stay away from recessive morphs, but with my pastel yellow belly female being 50% het pied, I just can't.
I'm going to be picking up a pastel pied for her next spring and when I breed them I want to offer a genetics guarantee saying the babies are 100% het, which they will be since she will be paired with a visual male. How do I write the genetics guarantee so that it gives my buyers confidence that they are getting what they paid for but at the same time protect myself.
I've been thinking about promising to refund their money if they don't get a single visual within 2 clutches from a visual pairing (I'm accounting for really bad luck with odds here), but if they contact me saying they didn't get a visual how do I know they aren't lying and the snake had been paired with a male that wasn't even het? I know the babies I sell will be 100% hets, but I'm worried about people lying and me ending up with the short end of the stick.

Selling bum hets isn't as big of a racket as it use to be what with hets being so easy to get your hands on. Never guarantee that they will produce visual animals, because you can only speak to the genetic of your animal not its mate and even with a visual to a Het pairing the odds are only 50/50 and I've missed two years in a row on two different morphs with those odds.
For genetics guarantee's I simply state that the animal's linage is as stated and that the genetics odds are as stated..I.E 100% het, 66% ect ect.. If in the future someone come to me and says that they didn't produce any visuals then refund their money get you het back and move on..
When you've got 10,000 people trying to do the same thing, why would you want to be number 10,001? ~ Mark Cuban "for the discerning collector"

I'm not too worried about normal hets, but with that pairing I could get a super pastel yellow belly 100% het pied and I'm sure someone buying that is going to want some type of genetics guarantee. I will just state the pairing and guarantee they are 100% hets. Thank you.

Bigger thing is to build up your rep. IMO genetics guarantees are somewhat worthless. Anyone can write out a piece of paper, then in three years when the animals breed, may not even be around to uphold the guarantee.
But if people know you have a solid rep, then they will be much more trusting. It doesn't hurt to provide a guarantee, but many, including myself, are going to pay much more attention to who is doing the selling, rather than what they're selling.

I know rep is important, but I currently have none as a seller. I feel like I will be able to sell most of my first few clutches locally, but I don't want to wait a few years to prove my ph pied female since she will be ready to go next year (unless she goes on another 2.5 month hunger strike >_<).
I know genetic guarantees are pretty much worthless, but I will feel better sending them off with my snakes. I take pride in my collection and I have no problem giving a written guarantee of genetics.

I had some of the same concerns going into making hets and co-dom hets, but it's been pretty easy going so far with 23 of the 30 100% hets I produced this season sold or on payment plans.
Reputation is very important, photographing lock ups and ovulations and egg laying and anything you can to document the pairing will help.
Providing signed photographic genetics guarantees is something I expect when I buy any snake that is a het, I know my customers expect it also.
I do up the document, print it out, sign it and then scan it and re-print it to place in the box with the snake and I also email it to the customer should they want a digital copy.
Honesty, good customer service, QUALITY animals, good pictures(pictures sell) and being out there in the reptile community will go a long ways towards making people comfortable with buying from you.

I'm not saying don't provide one, for many it does give comfort. I'm just saying that having a good rep will go a lot further than a piece of paper is all. And so long as you sell healthy snakes and give solid customer service, your rep will come.

Most have a picture of the snake, what the exact pairing was, what the exact genetics are, some sort of authenticity/guarantee, etc. Some will also have pictures of parents locking, mother on eggs, etc, as well. It varies.
