Stuck Shed :(
So it's been a couple days since I noticed Crawly was deep in blue. I had thought she wouldn't eat on Friday because she was shedding, but she struck and ate, better than normal actually. I gave her a few days to digest, then ended up moving her into a tub from her aquarium, hoping the increased humidity would help her shed the skin... no luck sadly.
She was looking terribly wrinkled today and in desperate need of a good soak. So she is now in a tub soaking beside me with a washcloth. She hasn't shed any of her skin... so my question is, how do I really go about helping her? I figure I would let her soak for about an hour, hope she gets some off... but how do I help with her head and everything without terrifying her?

Re: Stuck Shed :(
Just let the snake run through a damp wash cloth and she should be able to get it off. In the event that she does not, you can put her in a damp pillowcase and she will more then likely get the shed off as she tries to get out of the damp pillowcase.

Re: Stuck Shed :(
I wouldn't think you have stuck shed yet. It takes 3-5 days (on average) after the eyes clear for the skin to shed. Soaking before they start shedding can actually lead to a bad shed. The reason the eyes go blue and color dulls is there is a fluid that form between the new skin and old to ease shedding. Soaking can wash this fluid out and make the shed more difficult. I would not worry about anything until you see Crawly start to shed then if peices of skin are stuck or Crawly is unable to shed in one complete skin then perhaps I would soak her. But I try to avoid soaking and put the snake in a pilow case with a warm damp towel and place them back in the enclosure give them an hour or so to try to crawl out and this almost always gets the rest of the skin off. I will try to link the sticky for the shed process hope this helps.

Well she started looking blue early last week. It just got consistently worse. Today it was to the point where it had in a couple very small spots torn off, however, she was all wrinkled and you could definitely see she was just dried out and looking terrible. She has managed to shed everything except an eye cap from what I can tell. Should I try with a q-tip to gently remove that?

Got her all taken care of. She let me gently brush the eyecap off. So now she's good to go!
