    Prepping for New Arrivals :)

So I am in the process of getting everything setup for my new arrivals...(http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-Headed-My-Way!)

They are currently around 90 grams I believe, so I had already decided to go with 6qt tubs until they outgrow them. (not in a rack btw)
The only problem is that by the time I get the heavy water dishes in there that I like (2" Ramekan's from Walmart), and a hide...there really isn't any room for them to move around.

Rackless tubs....but don't want hides in them....

    This was my solution!!
I went ahead and melted my holes in the tubs, and then I taped off the front 3" or so of the tub, and the bottom of the tub, and blasted it with some Krylon Plastic Paint (flat black). Taped off the bottom so that there wouldn't be paint where the tubs are on the flexwatt...
Oh also put tape on the inside over the holes so paint wouldn't get inside.

Overall I like how it turned out, I think it will give them the security they need even without a hide.

I have also ordered a Hydrofarm Thermostat...I know they aren't the best in the biz, but they are in my current price range...will be replaced when I have the $$. Going to ARS tomorrow afternoon to get flexwatt and have it wired. Love that they are a 20 min. drive, and don't charge me to solder it. I bring in my own cord and they just charge for the footage of flexwatt

    Anyways...pics:

Re: Prepping for New Arrivals :)

I've never seen that before, so I am interested to see how it works out. Please post periodic updates. I may have to get some of that paint for a project that I'm working on.
