Heating a snake room.
Just wondering if any of you use one of those wall mounted vent-less gas heaters? Do these give off any harmfull byproducts as it burns natural gas? I'm using one of those oil filled radiant heaters and seems to be jacking up my electric bill. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!
thanks,
Dave

I use a space heater, looks something like this: http://www.momadvice.com/blog/upload...ter-773025.jpg
Luckily my parents had it from a while back, but it easily warms a room from 70 F to 80 F in about an hour. I also dont need to leave it on 24 hours a day, usually just put it on for one or two hours of the day and it keeps the temps up if I close the door.
Hope that helps.

Safest way to do it is by using a oil filled heater (around $40) plugged into a ranco thermostat (about $70).
Never trust a heater thermostat always use an outside thermostat.

The biggest problem that I see with a natural gas ventless heater is that it would really dry out the air. You would need a really good humidifier to keep the humidity up. Personally I would stick with the oil filled heater.
