Twins? Different dads?
In a who's your daddy clutch could twins have different fathers?
I just found this. My eggs were getting tuff, so I cut the holes bigger.

Both seem weak, and I don't think they will make it, but it got me thinking. Has anyone ever produced twins that were proven to be from different fathers?
Thanks,
Steph

Hm, I suppose it could happen but will need to know more about your pairings first.
Also, don't be so sure they won't make it as tons of twins do make it. Just give them more time, keep them hydrated, and watch em closely. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement
The pairing was my Het Albino girl to a Spider ph ghost and 66% ph Albino pied. I would not be able to tell unless the normal made it and I bred it down the road.

A clutch can have two sires, but eggs only one. What you see is an egg in which one baby got the spider gene and the other did not. I've seen eggs with one albino and one normal. Congrats and good luck.

Why wouldn't they make it? They look fine to me. How would you know they are weak if they are in the egg still? They will come out when ready just don't bother them or try to coax them out too soon. They will be small and if they both make it, will need some tlc but they look good from here.

Re: Twins? Different dads?
Thanks everyone! I'm a little paranoid because I had a baby die in the egg in my last clutch during the last few days after I cut. That's probably why I cut everyone a bigger hole. There on day 58, so they should be out soon. I thought they were both dead because they would not move. I think they were just a little shocked to see daylight. I have seen them both move since, so there is still hope. They are going to need lots of care because the average weight of these eggs were 72.25 grams. They are going to be tiny. It was their moms 1st clutch and she laid 8 eggs! She was only 1200 grams when she locked for the first time.
