    Are my temps okay?

I have a 10g aquarium and I have a heat mat "set on 92" and a red basking light. My humidity is a constant 50. My cold side is 77 and the hot side is about 85...is this okay? P.S. Why is it so hard to keep from holding them the first week?!

85 is a bit low for hot side, I would bump up the thermostat till you are getting at least 88. Suggested temps are 88-92 for the hot side

It's as he said; those are the required temps for proper digestion. As far as I know, as long as you don't go over 95 BP's won't sustain thermal burns. Also, 105+ is the temp required to cause neurological damage as I recall.

I would raise the temp of the heat pad and ditch the light
