I run mine 24/7 to heat my snake room.
I have it hooked to a herpstat in proportional mode. The built in thermostats are notoriously bad so rather then using that. I have it set to be on full blast and my herpstat cuts it on and off as needed. LOVE this set up.
Room is always 77.2 giver take.

Re: Oil Filled Heaters.
I have an oiled filled heater on a Rancho thermostat. I run it 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year, and have never had an issue.

I leave mine on 24/7 unless the room is really hot, then I'll switch it off for a while. I manage it manually, just adjusting the temp as needed.
