After a year and a half, job interview!

Sort of. I submitted my resume/application to Elwood Staffing and got a call the next afternoon. I missed it by 10 minutes and had to call back yesterday morning. I've got an interview scheduled with them for next Monday. I am super excited because its been almost a year and a half since I had even a job interview, and that was just a lame 5 minute thing at Family Video that I didn't expect to go any further (it didn't).

Has anyone here worked with Elwood Staffing? I've heard some good things about them and I'm curious about what kind of jobs they find people for.

Congrats! Hope you land the job. I was unemployed for almost 2 years so I know what a relief/joy it is to at least get an interview, especially somewhere where you know you'll enjoy working.

I told the better half that a job is a job, and at this point minimum wage is better than the nothing I'm making right now.

thats the outlook you need man. i always tell myself "it could be worse". i told the wife the same thing and she just started with one of the gas stations in town. its close to home and pays better than just driving around looking for jobs.

Congratulations! A job is a job, absolutely.

Elwood Staffing (at least the one where I lived) isn't bad. I've not worked for/with them personally but friends that have said it's not a bad place to work for. They seem to primarily place people with warehousing-type jobs and inventory supply for just-opened stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc. Temps do the unloading/sorting of the semis while the Bed, Bath & Beyond (HATE that store! and am anxiously glancing over my shoulder to make sure my typing the name didn't conjure up my wife, credit card and car keys in hand!) staff move the stuff to the shelves and whatnot. Hope it works out for you and good luck!
