Premade snake rack
I'm looking into buying a premade rack. I know making my own would be cheaper, but frankly, I think a monkey would do a better job. Plus I like the convinience of the premade. I'm in canada and I only know of Boaphile that send to canada, does anyone else?? Also any comments on the Boaphile products?
Thanks!

Re: Premade snake rack
I'm not sure if they ship to Canada or not and I couldn't find out form their web-site but you might look at Animal Plastics. Depending what part of Canada you're in, it might be easier/cheaper for you to drive to pick it up in Iowa, which is where they're located. I have one of their racks and have been very happy with it, as well as with their customer service. Their lead time can be kind of long (6-8 weeks) but that's with any company it seems, so anyway. Nothing but good things to say about them as far as I'm concerned.
Here's their web-site: http://www.animalplastics.com/

Boaphile makes a nice rack system.
Almost all of the US Rack Builders will ship to Canada. You will jusy have to pay the duties. Depending on the size of your shipment you may have to have a broker clear your order at customs. Duties will be HST on the value of the product converted into Canadian dollars if made in North America. A typical Brokerage fee would be $60 + HST.
I quoted shipping from Animal Plastics for a hatchling rack and it was going to be $192.00.
Try Cornel's World. He is located in Alberta (I think) and makes nice PVCX racks that offer either back or belly heat and come in all of you typical Hatchling/Juvinile/Adult and Breeded rack sizes.
Happy Shopping

animal plactics is in iowa i need to start paying more attention. might just have to get a rack from them instead of building my own. having to build one does seem like a pain but at least you can do it how you need it, even though it might not be the best looking.

I'd second Greg (cornel's world) it is a great person to deal with very fair and will give you honest opinions with out trying to up sell. Really great. You might als ask Sylvain at sly plastics. It is also a good guy.

He doesn't list racks but could build a custom one will he do it is a different story.

Re: Premade snake rack
Boaphile makes a good system. I think for the money though vision has a better rack. I have a couple v35 and a v18 from vision and i love the v18 system cause the tubs work great for hatchlings and juvies up to 750 grams

Thanks everyone! I think I might just go with the boaphileplastics one, I don't currently have a need or desire to breed, so price wise they are what I am looking for. Also, any comments on the thermostats they have?

Or nathan at ngm just sold the fusion rack franchise to a guy in manitoba if im not mistake... And those are amazing.
Gregs are great "DIY" style. High quality and great price though.
Fusion is breeder quality.. Like freedom breeder or ara caging.

I have been using vision racks for several months now and they are good racks but they do not hold humidity very well. I myself am going to try to make the swap to either animal plastics or ARS. I don't have any experience with racks from animal plastics but I do have an incubator i bought from them that is very nice and the people were great to deal with.
