Tarantula ID?
My dog found this guy while we were on a hike this evening. Any ideas on what sort of T this is? It was probably around 4 inches long, found in northern NV.

In any case, it was a very exciting find! We don't see too many tarantulas here, mostly just smaller spiders.

thats nevada not northern virginia lol. i had a random spider about that big show up at work last week. this one was brown though.

Looks like some sort of Aphonopelma species? Possibly Aphonopelma hentzi? Can't really tell by the pic though. VERY cool find

It's definitely Aphonopelma, and my gut says male too. It looks like it could be hentzi, but I also want to say Aphonopelma anax.
