Head Shed Only

I know I just read a thread about this exact topic but I can never find the threads when I need to and I'm a bit concerned for the little guy.

My spider has shed his head only 3 days ago and hasn't attempted to finish shedding as far as I can tell. He's been in the blue for at least 9 days. His skin is super faded and wrinkly. It makes him look emaciated even though I know he's not. His last shed (which was also his very first) was near perfect, one piece. I passed on feeding him this week because he really wasn't showing signs of interest in doing anything at all so I decided to wait till he had shed.

His humidity stays around 60-65 and I've been misting just a smidge since he's been in the blue.

What should I do?

Once my Bp starts to shed and I realise it's not complete, I put her in a warm bath, leave to soak for about 5 mins to loosen the skin and I get a snippet of a towel and finish it myself.

Gently rub the towel snippet over the shed edges (front to back motion) with a little pressure, and the shed will roll right off, some say they are tender and sensitive after a fresh shed, but my girl doesn't seem to care, she just climbs right onto my hand once I reach into her tank.

Soak him in warm water about 85F for 45 mins. Let him slither though a wash rag few times with slight pressure to loosen the shed. Then assist getting it off yourself. Youd be surprised how they sit and allow you to do this as they know your helping.


If it dont help, after soaking toss them in a pillow case for 45 mins. Tie it off and put it back in the cage on warm side. Them trying to get out will help get more off.

The only reason I let it go 3 days is I swear I read a thread a week ago and the idea I got from it was it wasn't urgent and he'd figure it out. But after seeing him today, he really looked like he needed help. Next time I won't be scared to ask a stupid question and I'll ask that stupid question sooner.

I gave him a soak and then let him move through a damp towel. It took some time and another soak but it's all off except one little spot on his underside that really didn't wanna go yet.
