    thanks, I still have that lid, i should get rid of it right? Whats not good about it?

    No ventilation and as you noticed, he can escape from it. A sliding screen lid works best.

    he looks kinda big for that 10 gallon tank he might be restless cause he doesnt have enough room. they do like to hide but its good for them to be able to stretch out across the ground.
    I don't have any pics of my set up right now Ill try to get some at home but a longer plastic tub works good. i got one from target for 12 dollars and its a 41qt. the side lock shut and I use to giant butterfly clips to hold the middles down. pretty much escape proof as well, and hold heat/humidity so well i never have to mess with it.

    gives him plenty of room to move about the ground you could get a taller one too.
    i use aspen bedding from petco, the non colored kind. hold water good for 1-2 week between misting

    if you need a cheaper but decent thermostat I have been using this one from amazon and it works awesome. keeps the heat withing 2 degrees of where you set it

    there are better more pricey thermostats if you wanna pay 100+ that would probably have a longer life span but if money is an issue this one works great for 1 UTH
