Nice video! I enjoyed seeing all of the cute little rats. Still super jealous over those Black Eyed Siamese though.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I had a few requests about the racks I use so here's a link to the DIY thread for the rack build.

Why no watering system? Im using tanks and bottles for now with plans to build in the next week and was wondering. I have even placed two 16 oz bottles so I don't have to refill for a few days.

The possibility of flooding and cost are the main reasons for my use of water bottles. It takes me 10 minutes to switch and clean water bottles by myself and even less if my girlfriend lends a hand. I run 1.4 in my breeding tubs and change water every 3 or 4 days. I know some people just set their snakes and rodents up and check them weekly or whenever they get a chance but that's just not how I personally do things. This is a hobby I enjoy. Part of the enjoyment for me is the time I get to spend with the animals. I think auto-watering does make sense if you are a commercial breeder or if you are watering hundreds of adult rodents but most of us aren't currently and won't ever be doing that

    Regards,

    B

    Thanks!

I have seen pics of rats drowning so that was one of the concerns I had. I was thinking of putting a drain tub in each but was thinking that they would eventually find it and start chewing.

I too spend time a lot of time with mine. In my current housing setup it's a bit of a hassle going up a flight of stairs. Maybe I will add a cold line near the tanks.

Good looking rat collection. Some very cool projects you've got going there
