little help
Hi there I am new to this site and new to the world of balls. I have kept other snakes in the past but decided to get a hatchling lesser this summer and he is wonderful. My question starts with my now second ball python, a 10 year old adult. He has been gifted to me and I have a few feeding questions.
1st how often does a 10 year old eat? he is between 4-5 feet and previous owner said that he fed only every 4-6 weeks. He also said that he would not eat frozen. But since I am storing some large frozen rats for my friend I thought I would try it. His last feeding was in early Aug. and this snake just about took the tongs out of my hand to get at this rat (like flipped over 3X with the strike) and ate it with no trouble. Any advice? is 4-6 normal for adults? I have looked for some info but it seems to be quite vague. I will post some picts in a few days when I take him out for the first time (has eaten and should be at over 1 week of just chill out time)
Thanks for any advice

I feed my adult males every week. Small rat. I am a fan if feeding smaller more frequent meals. It helps keep the breeding fasts away.
So I suggest a small rat weekly.

+1 Homegrownscales. The poor thing was being neglected if it was only being fed every 4-6 weeks. That's not a gift, it's a rescue. Ball python adults should be offered food every 7-10 days or so. There's a difference between them choosing to fast (which is stressful) and not offering. Good luck with this guy! I'm sure he is in much better hands now

Also seeing ah he has not eaten in sooo long, offering him f/t now may be successful. Be sure to thaw completely and warm up with blow dryer.

Re: little help
thought 4-6 seemed long but when I tried to look it up it almost seemed there was to thoughts on feeding either weekly or monthly. Thanks for the help I will post a new thread when I can get some picts.
