How often should I replace the substrate?
I have a 3 month old bee BP named Tuna. Is there a set time I should be changing the substrate or just spot cleaning it is enough?

You can spot clean and replace as needed, how often you will do that will depend on the substrate.
There is no set time.

I see I'm not the only one who named their bee after Bumblebee Tuna.

I thought it was clever, glad there are others like me

Well, for me I use packing paper as a substrate so I only change it when it gets soiled.

That is great!
OP, what are you using for substrate? If its something like newspaper or aspen, I would change it as soon as its soiled. If its something a little fancier like coconut husk or birch/orchid bark, then spot clean as needed and change once a month or so. If it looks nasty or starts molding, pitch it.

Re: How often should I replace the substrate?
I think it's up to you, but when I had mine on aspen, I spot cleaned daily and did a complete change-out once a week.
That got a little expensive, and I kept finding poos and urates buried in the aspen that I hadn't seen when spot-cleaning, so I switched to newsprint. I check daily and change it out if it's dirty.
Hope that helps.

I'm using aspen. She's only pooped once and spotting/cleaning urate is fairly easy. Unless someone gives me good reason against it I think I will change it out roughly every month.

I'm currently using eco-earth? (Those condensed bricks) I really only spot clean, and stir it up when adding water for humidity, and it's been working just fine.

I use Aspen also - I spot clean on a daily basis and give the tanks a good clean every month or so.
