Hi. I am new to breeding and am in need of an incubator and I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where to get one. I just don't want to end up buying a cheapo that isn't going to work properly. Thanks

Natures spirit is an excellent incubator. http://www.nsreptiles.com/incubator.html I have had great luck with mine this year It will hold 12 6 qt tubs.

Making one out of an old fridge or freezer is the most efficient route. You can determine what thermostat you want, how much heating you need and how much airflow works best. It also costs much less than commercial models. Lots of help right here in the DIY section.

Got mine from animalplastics.com holds 16 12qt tubs. it was a lil spendy but i think it was worth it.

This is our second year hatching BP eggs. We made ours ourself and we have had an excellent outcome so far. Of coarse, it may help if you have a handy man around. We took a upright freezer that no longer worked and cut a hole in the side and put a small window in it's place. Then we cut another hole in the top. We went to Tractor Supply and bought a small chicken incubator for $40. We took that incubator and hung it upside down inside the freeze and glued it up against the top where the hole is. That way the heat coil is on the inside and the adjustment knob is on the top of the freezer so you can adjust the temperature from the outside. Put a thermometer on the inside near the window and put racks on the inside and your ready to go. Ours will hold 18 2qt. Dollar Store tubs. Sounds complicated, but it really isn't. If you'd like pictures of the one we made our have any questions, let me know. All the money we put into it is the money for the small incubator and the tubs. It's a cheaper route that works really well. Good luck and enjoy your hatchlings.
