Your ball-python may have a weird looking pattern, but that's just nature.

It's funny to me that when a person sees an off-color or a "odd" looking pattern, they start chasing after a "new morph". First thing they want to do it breed it to a normal, then raise the baby up and breed it back to its parent in the hopes that it is genetic.

But that's just human nature. Humans are pattern seeking animals. We look for patterns in everything, even where there are none. And when we don't find the pattern we are looking for, we make it up.

I'm no morph expert but with the solid white belly scales and the high side color, got a few floaters in his pattern. when he was younger i think we would have seen him to be manifesting some pastel looks. Pastel dinks can go dark pretty quick and their pattern can mask there gene pool but the trait is in there nonethe less. JMO. ezra

Just as I referenced above, its a person searching for a new morph. In this case, something "pastel-like". He thinks that with "solid white belly scales and the high side color" and "few floaters in his pattern", that the snake in the picture has some type of pastel-like gene.

Just another case of someone "pattern-seeking".

    You can't really blame people.

After you've seen the Russo, and the Huffman, and the Mystic, and the Spector...

It's no wonder people stare cross-eyed at anything that looks even slightly 'off'.

Some of those 'just a pretty normals' have turned out to be anything but. The markers can be extraordinarily subtle.

This het lav looks normal to me.

dude.. how do you think 90% of the morphs out there got discovered? people "pattern-seeking" as you would say. i cant tell if your trying to contribute usefull information to the thread or just trash people for "pattern-seeking"

He looks just like my normal male. The same white patches coming up from the belly and flames. I don't think this one is anything more than a normal (aside from being a het).
