2 snakes/1 tank?
I have a tank thats way too big and really want to start my collection and have seen some real deals (kingsnake classified is my crack) and was wondering if adding a slightly bigger female with my boy would be ok? I have 3 hides and plenty of room.

Re: 2 snakes/1 tank?
Housing ball pythons together except for breeding is not recommended. If one gets sick, they both get sick. In many instances, the presence of another will stress them out. Many times they'll be found "cuddling", when in fact they are in competition for the perceived best spot in the enclosure and one is actually being dominated by the other.
Unless you have years of experience, and are able to read subtle signs of stress, it's not recommended to house them together.

Re: 2 snakes/1 tank?
Also, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who breeds that houses ball pythons together. Trust me, if it saved space AND didn't cause stress to the animals, they probably would, just based on the size of their collections and the space it could save.
But the fact that they chose not to, should tell you that it's often just novice keepers that choose to house ball pythons together, often to the detriment to the health and well being of their animals.

ok, thx......it's so hard telling yourself 'they'll be another one like that later", but I'll try like hell to wait till I have a nice tub setup.

Lots of great advice already. I do like Robins point, if it worked breeders would do it. That's the reason I always give for saying tubs are perfectly fine for BPs. Tubs save space and they thrive in them. If they could live together I would definitely do it just for saving that much more space.
