Nuclear Spiders- Butter/Lesser... Matter?
When making Nuclear Spiders (Butter x Fire x Spider); does it matter whether its a Butter being used vs a Lesser? Really what I'm asking is, will the morph really look all that different?
Thanks,
Vitto

The morph will probably look very similar and Mike has a lot of snakes on his website listed as butter or lesser being able to make the combo as well, so I'm going to say no it doesn't matter. It is believed they are the same morph but different lineages.

That's what I thought. I just wasn't sure mixing a couple morphs into it would change the outcome at all. I have a lesserbee that I'm going to put to my fire female in hope of getting a Nuclear spider (if I can still call it that since it's not a butter)
But thanks

I think that'll work out just fine. The line between a butter and lesser is hazy at best. When I'm looking through pictures it seems that the animals that are more yellow and faded are called butters and the ones with more silver and purple/more contrasted pattern are lessers.
EDIT: I guess I should say that the main difference is the wild caught origin. The original butter probably looked different from the original lessers. Selective breeding and similar traits probably made them into most of the examples you see today

The fact is that no one can tell the difference these days between lessers and butters. There may have been a point where F2 butters looked noticeably different from F2 lessers, but it's not because of a difference in the single allele that causes the trait, but in the entire rest of the innumerable genetic influences.
