Hide
Hi,
My juvenile BP has been cramming himself behind the hides instead of in them...in the corner against the tank and hide. should I be worried, or perhaps he doesnt like the hides. Im using 2 green plastic bowles with a door way cut into them. the hdies arent much bigger than him but has plenty of room.
i guess if he is confortable and feels safe i shouldnt worry?
should I just try different hides?

You can try different hides if you like, but I'd let him settle into the space behind his hide. I have several bp's that stay behind their hides, instead of inside their hide. The other thing you can do is rotate the hide, so the opening is facing an enclosed area or towards the wall. Then he may feel more comfortable inside it.

Re: Hide
thats cool, im not too worried then. i figure they will go where they like. im gonna turn the doors around to face the wall, i have a pic across the back and sides so he cant see out of all directions and see if he still prefers the wall or not

Re: Hide
so after a few mores days of watching him i guess he really likes the spots behind his hides instead. the hides are barely bigger than him so i know he can touch all of his sides and top to the hide.
i guess are some BP not as worried about being in the open behind their hides then. twice i tried placing the hide over him and in the morning there he was behind it again it seems i always pick strange animals, my daschund thinks shes an acrobat
