Food for hatchlings?

I am getting into breeding and currently feed f/t to my whole collection. My question is will baby ball pythons eat f/t from the getgo? Just wondered if I would have to have live small mice on hand or not. thanks

Have the mice on hand for your problem feeders (if any).

Some will, some won't. I would keep some appropriate sized rats on hand and save the mice as a last resort.

thanks guys I hate breeding but I may have to breed a few just to get them their first meals. Do baby balls usually start on like rat pinks or mice?

Mouse pinkies are usually to small of a prey item to stimulate a feeding response. rat fuzzies or mice hoppers to start them off will work.

I have only been breeding for a few years now, but I have only gotten a COUPLE to take f/t from the get go.. the rest do live ..

now boas.. that's a whole nother story.. lol
