Eye dent?

Hey everyone, i woke up this morning and check my little guy. Hes been in shed for abut a week and a half or so and ive been doing very good with keeping the humidity up. I spray 3-4 times a day and put moss in the hides. This morning i found his shed and it was okay. Relatively in one peace but a little gross for the poo all over it. I took him out to check him and he only had one little piece stuck to his back. Then i looked at his eye and one seemed crack/dented. I got worried and thought it was a cap from the shed. I gently rubbed my finger and a damp paper towel on him and nothing happened. Later i got my hands diryt in the poo shed and found the head. Both caps were shedded off. So i read about the dented eyes. And i found out that is a result of dehydration. Im confused because i i did such a good job keeping the humidity up. Im also scared i hurt him from rubbing his eye? what should i do

Eye dent can be from dehydration but it can also mean the snake is going to shed. Keep up the humidity and leave the eye alone! I bet your snake sheds soon.

Just leave him be. He probably rubbed his eye up against something while trying to get the shed off. Just keep up the good work...make sure he always has plenty of fresh water and adequate humidity. The eye will likely correct itself in time...at worst, it may last 'til the next shed.

pssst.... The eye dent was discovered immediately following a fresh shed.

Im no expert and could be completely wrong but i would guess its due to stress. I saw a bunch of young ball pythons in a pet store the other day and they were in the same aquarium and one or two of them had dented eyes. so maybe you should just not handle him for a few days and make sure you keep humidity up and fresh water, and see if that helps.
I dont know about the touching the eye thing, im sure somebody will know more than me on both topics. Hope i helped a little

I skimmed it. Do you know how many posts I read and try to help with a day? LOL. And I agree, probably rubbed shedding and either way, don't mess with it and keep your humidity proper and it will either fix itself now or next shed.

i tried to feed him tonight but he kept striking and missing, im really scared i hurt his eye

That isn't striking and missing, that's stress. I would leave him alone and keep your humidity high. I have a mostly blind snake I bought from a pet owner that didn't keep proper humidity and she never misses a strike. The snake is probably stressed out. Leave it alone and try not to mess with it.
