So my male ball has been finicky with his food lately since it is breeding season. I know they CAN go off feed for almost 8 months, but the fact that he'd had nothing to eat in a few weeks just bothered me. So, I decided to pick up a few ASFs to try out after hearing that ASFs put them back into eating mode like butter.... and sure enough the one I offered him disappeared and a little lump in his belly appeared. I am satisfied. Definitely planning on stocking the freezer with them for him if the next few feedings go as well as todays. Anyone else use ASFs?

My ball has always been a picky eater. He was the last one from his clutch to start eating and had to be force fed as a baby. So if he's eating something I am happy. If I ever end up moving too far away I'll start up a small colony of them for him. Since I just have the one ball at the moment it's not too big of a worry for me right now. But I do appreciate the concern.. I've heard of someone giving their ball a baby rabbit for easter and it getting stuck on those...
