    Ball Python Behaviour

Hey guys My 3 year old female ball Python that layed eggs almost 6 weeks ago... and her behaviour has changed completely! she is so skiddish and just Jumpy... wish she go back to normal eventually??.. it's sad because i don't want to be afraid to pick her up. she's struck at my boyfriend shortly after we fed her but never drew blood or bit hard. so please if anyone know whats going on with her let me know! lol I wanna make sure she goes back to normal!

Sounds like normal behavior for a mom sitting on eggs. Did you take the eggs, or are you letting her hatch them?

    Re: Ball Python Behaviour

If the incubator's in the same room, maybe she can still smell them. I think she'll get back to normal unless something else is bothering her. If it was me, I'd double check everything to make sure there's no problems (temp., humidity, something uncomfortable/dirty in her cage, something uncomfortable attached to her skin, fresh clean water, etc.), then I'd leave her alone other than feeding for a couple of weeks. I'm sure you have good hides for her. Add a humidity box if you don't have one. If she's not back to her old self in a couple of weeks, you might consider a trip to the vet. Take her to the vet right away if any serious symptoms appear. Hope that helps. Scarey when our little friends aren't acting quite right....

My females tend to be very hungry after laying and for several weeks or more will strike at anything that moves.
During this period I feed them several times a week and soon they go back to their old selves.

I would give her a good bath and new bedding , check her for a stuck egg if u havnt already and if u have I would take her to the vet just to be safe hope she goes back to normal
