worried about a spot
Today I noticed a little brown spot on my BP's bottom of the neck.
It kind of looks like a fragment of wood stuck under a underneath a scale but i'm really not sure, cause there is no increase in height where the spot is
I will post a pic underneath, not the best but he is not really coöperative for belly pics
Btw: it doesnt seem to bother him when i touch it...

What could this be?

If it is a splinter you can remove it with a pait of pointy tweezers, you will need an extra set of hands.

Re: worried about a spot
if it is a splinter, i certainly can't reach it...
perhaps a visit to the vet can clarify this??? But problem is, i am a student so i dont wanna waste money for nothing....
whatr do you guys think?
Edit: and it also doesn't look like a splinter, it looks more like the scale itself just browns out for 1/2 of a mm with a little dent in it at the lowest part of the scale...
Like i told, the picture doesn't really tell what i see irl...

Does it look irritated?
Is it hard?
Can you feel it or just see it?
What substrate do you use?
And last but not least- how long has it been there (sense you got him? 24 hours?)?
-just trying to get a better idea.

Re: worried about a spot
same pic, resized...
i really hope it is a splinter, but if it is i really cant reach it without, as far as i think, hurting him....

it doesn't look irritated, he doesnt move if i touch it, i cant feel it only see it
I noticed it about 10 hours ago
i use reptibark
temps and humidity are fine
he eats very good, its the first BP that eats FT with me so
i really wouldnt know what it is

It doesn't look like its under the skin
It could be that it sheds off- or maybe its a scab from a scratch.
I think my course of action would be to wait it out and see if it comes off/out with the shed. A vet trip for no reason could stress him when he doesn't need to be (and cost money). But thats me. You gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully someone who has had this happen will chime in.
