What is the largest size snake you would put in a 15 qt tub?

At what size do you think a snake needs to be moved up to a larger tub?
from 6 qt to 15 qt?
    from 15qt to 32 qt?
    from 32 to 41qt?

I had most of my snakes in 32 qt tubs, but my rack also keeps 15 qt tubs. What size of snake is too big to be put in 15qt? Does that include hides?

I only have hides with the picky eaters but I move up at 700g or so as long as the snake is eating consistantly.

    Regards,

I had all my snakes in 12q (same footprint as 15q) tubs until I set up a new rack recently. I had a few that were in the 500-600 gram range and one in the 800 gram range (the others were smaller). The three 500-600g snakes seemed fine in the 12q tub but the 800 gram snake seemed really cramped. Without hides (none of my bins have hides), the snake took up 2/3 of the tub and the water bowl took up the rest. He stayed on the hot side 90% of the time because he would have to move the water dish out of the way to sit on the cool side. When he did sit on the cool side the water dish had to go on the hot side and the humidity would rise (for obvious reasons). My male pastel is approaching 600g so he too will soon be in a 28q tub. I can not imagine a 1000g snake in a 15q tub with water dish and belly heat. I voted 600g.

If they start to look too big for it (like taking up half the tub), then I move them up. That's usually around 500 grams. I figure they need a little room to thermoregulate, among other things.
Breedable females go into 41 quart or CB-70, as do the larger males.

I don't use hides unless the snake proves to be of a particularly nervous disposition, and won't eat without one. (The darkness of the rack is good enough for most of them). I do use some hide/water bowls for younger snakes.

I keep snakes up to 500g in 15qt tubs (though right now, due to space constraints until we move, I do have some larger snakes in 15qt tubs). I have one female that will not eat in a larger tub. She is over 1000g now and is happy in her little 15qt tub.

    Up to 2000g in a 32qt. 2000+ in 41qt.

I have a couple snakes that refuse to eat in 32 qt tubs and they're over 1000 grams. As soon as I put them back in the 15 qt, they start pounding food again.

Like most have already said though, I do not use any hides unless they're a nervous eater.

I try to move them up to 32 qt around 7-800 grams as long as they continue to eat well.

Oh and I do not use any hides as well. The only hide I'm using right now is for a 950g het axanthic female that I want to be as comfortable as possible so she'll pound food. She's in a 32qt with a hide and is pounding live small rats. No one else gets a hide though.

Pretty much as Wolfie said, when the snake takes up half the tub, it's time for a bigger tub.

I have a rack system, but it's a very open rack so I use hides.
