    The advice I was given.
After eating don't mess with them for 48 hrs - always-
Don't mess with them in shed -always-

    New snakes first month.
    Week 1: don't handle
    Weeks 2-4: 15 - 30 min once a day, don't take out more then once a day

They spend most of their time in their hides, so you will often be removing them from the hides.

I do give my snakes a good soaking once they go into shed but then leave them alone after that.

    Cool

This is him chilling on the temp gauge that came with his kit, very rare of him. Usually in the hide my girl friend noticed while she was readying for bed and I ran in and snapped this pic.

My 10 year old has a cinna that is his and we pretty much let him get him out anytime he wants and the snake does really well with him and he is always in one of his hides. We have had no instances knock on wood with him hissing or striking and he handles him a lot. Just as long as you let them get acclimated to their new inviornment they will be fine.

When my snakes come out of their hides it is usually almost feeding day. Personally I think they are more likely to bite when they are hungry. So I prefer to take them out of their hide, when they are calm. But really either is fine.

The Acurite digital thermometer (with probe) is $12 at Walmart. It can give you hot spot and ambient temps, and humidity all on the same display.

My BP loves his half log hide and I couldn't help but chuckle when he grew to the point where he got stuck for a second when I moved the hide to pick him up. Like other people said, if you wait to only pick them up when they are out and about, you're gonna have a lonely snake.

When I first got mine, I was determined to make it a full week before handling him. I made it 4 days Luckily, he's an awesome eater and it didn't screw with him at all.
