Does this look like an ovy to you?

This my first ovy ever! So, I need a little reassurance as to that's what it is. I stopped pairing in May thinking she wasn't going to take. She's 4 yrs old and 2000 grams. Why is she doing it so late? Just messing with me.

Re: Does this look like an ovy to you?

My only concern is she's not really showing a tail suck. What does that mean? Maybe it's only the begging of an ovy?

You'll start to see them looking like that at the beginning of an ovulation. Give her a few days and you'll see the full blown ovulation...tail suck and all. Good luck!

It definitely looks like ovy to me. The tail suck usually, from what I've seen, waits until it's close to laying time--like a few days or so before she actually lays.

    Congrats!

She's doing this so late because that's her schedule. The idea that we can force them all to breed starting in October and ending in January is bogus. lots of breeders breed their BPs year round. I have a Mojo male locked up with a Pastel female right now, and a Spotnose locked up with a normal, right now.

Good Luck, and here's hoping for lots of healthy eggs!!!
Lots of BPs, and still not enough!

Re: Does this look like an ovy to you?

Thanks everyone! So, I guess it's time to fire the bator back up. It's all set up, just not turned on. I'm pretty sure she's just making sure i'm on my toes. She's bred with my reduced pattern mojo (a lot of locks all winter) and my black pastel.

Keep your fingers crossed for mojo's that look like daddy.
