    New Here!

hey guys im new to this site. ive been doing saltwater tanks for about a year now and ive got a firm grip on that. ive had snakes for 10ish years but just as pets never as a hobby so im going to start diving into breeding bp's now. hitting up repticon this weekend to see what i can pick up.. looking to spend a couple hundred right now. what does everybody reccommend as far as morphs go. i dont expect to start out with awesome morphs but i think it would be better to aquire cheaper cheaper morphs that produce awesome morphs? start from the base and work my way up ya know?

My best advice it to go to a site like kingsnake.com and look at different morphs. Find a few that you like and that you can afford.

yeah ive been doing that for years on and off haha i really like the spiders, bumble bee, mojaves,p iebalds, blue and black eyed lucys. the last three are obviously higher end so i wont be picking any of those up any time soon i was really hoping to eventually breed those as opposed to buying them.. im all about seeing the hard work pay off

If you enjoy those higher end morphs that you listed (Pieds and Leucistics) but do not want to spend that much money, then I suggest you pick up a pair of 100% het Piebalds, a pair of Fires (heterozygous form of Black-eyed Leucistic), or any combination of the BEL complexes (Mojave, Lesser, Butter, Het Russo, Mochas). Otherwise, if it is the Bumblebee that you want, Pick up a nice female Pastel and male Spider, or vice versa. It really all depends on how much you are willing to spend, because there is an endless amount of choices.

Sounds like a great plan! I personally prefer Super Fires to BELs, but of course you more often than not get a "cleaner white" snake with BELs. It's all about personal preference. I just can't get over those piercing black eyes with red pupils set on a gorgeous white background.

Good luck finding what you are looking for! 'Tis the season of babies!

EDIT: Also, I realized your original post said you are only looking to spend a couple hundred at the show. You may be able to work out a deal on a male for $200, but not many are that cheap.

eh couple hundred didnt really mean 200 exactly haha maybe more on the lines of 3-5ish if they are the right snakes. and yeah the super fires are on my list too but there is something about a white snake with blue eyes for me cause blue is my favorite color haha
