    New addition dumeril boa :)

Ok. I had a ten year high school reunion to go to this weekend. I suffered through and had a good hardy chuckle over how much weight people had gained (I know its not nice but its true!). One of my friends that I kept in contact with owns a pet shop that is mostly reptiles. He was showing me some of his new additions and I stumble accross this girl.... (Sorry, its the only one that tuned out)

She's just over six feet, a little over six years old, a little on the chunky side, and sweet as sugar. She'll be coming home with me I'll post better pictures when I have them.

Anyone on here have these guys? I'm getting conflicting info on enclosure size. Some care sheets say small so they feel secure and don't stress while others say 6' by 4'?

    I'd love advice

I agree. I don't have a dumerils yet, but I was considering one til I found my baby boa. In all the research I did, 4x2 would probably be adequate, but 6x2 would be better if you can manage it. If you have to save up for something like that, she should be fine for a short time in something smaller - maybe just through her quarantine then you can move her to something bigger. Just a thought...

And that is one pretty girl! congrats!

I'll have to build something for her. Unfortunately she's going to have to be a bit cramped during quarantine. The only thing that I have set up that will work is about a 56 qt sterilite tub. It won't be for too long so I'm sure she'll forgive me.

That should be alright. As you said, I wouldn't keep her in that permanently, but for the quarantine, it should be just fine. In the meantime, you can have fun designing the perfect setup for her!

I have a pair of Dums, My female is right around 6 ft as well, I have her in a 55 gallon tank and sh is dong just fine. As a matter of fact, I thought she was prego, however doesn't look like she is after all. Maybe next year. Anyway, nice head shot, can't wait to see the whole snake. Congrats on the pick-up.

I'm still in my home town. When I get back I'll get more pictures. All I had taken were a blur.
