How old/big is this snake?

I am negotiating a purchase of a BP. There are two I am interested in. The seller says one of them is 350g and the other is 400g. How old/big would that make these guys? Is there a rule of thumb? I notice that every description lists grams so I was just wondering how to translate that in to size or age

There is no rule of thumb, at that small we can assume they are young (probably within the past few years), but they grow at such varied rates it's impossible.

Just to tack on to what LGray said... I got a 2010 female recently, at 501grams.... the other girls I could have picked from were all born within a couple months of her, and weren't even half her size. From the same breeder, exact same conditions.

At NERD I saw a bp over 3 years old that was about the size of my 2010 male that's just under 400 grams (it was a very sick snake in the first year or so...but still). It depends on so many things.

good to know. Thanks guys. Please don't flame me for this question because it's just a thought..... I am fostering a Burm thats about 6ft. I guess it's a bad thought to even think about housing them together huh? Yea now that I say that out loud it sounds like a bad idea.

At NERD I saw a bp over 3 years old that was about the size of my 2010 male that's just under 400 grams (it was a very sick snake in the first year or so...but still). It depends on so many things.

I got clutch of 7 last year( september). All of the males are around 300g, females around 350-400. Based on regular feeding. One male is 120g. He was stubborn on eating etc. Had to force feed him, right now he is eating ASFR scented rats.

It all depends. But i would say with regular feedings, with good prey size, they should be around 300-400.

Ball pythons grow at different rates. Depending on genetics, growth spurts and how much thier being fed during them growth spurts.

All my 2010 hold backs are over 700g now eating on 50g sm rat ever 7 days

Like it was said, size can't determine age.

I have a 2010 female who is 700 grams and a 2009 male who is 400-he's a tough feeder so he's very small for his age. I also have a 2009 male that is about 900 grams. Just some examples of size and age.
