Green Iguana Help

Hey, i am helping a friend do some research on Green Iguanas for a school project. I dont want to use google, or anything like that bc i dont want to get the wrong info. if any one on here could help out that would be great...

things i would like to know:
average life span
diet
heating/cooling
caging
lenght
size
some pictures that could be used too would be great, thanks again guys and gals.

average life span - Hard to pin down. Most oflks don't know how to take care of them. In good hands, I'd say about 10-15 years. Otherwise, less than 5. The record I tihnk is 25 years though.
diet - Fruits and vegies mostly. They'll take mealworms and the like though especially younger ones.
heating/cooling - These are very durable animals but they thrive in tropical conditions. 80's cool and 90's hot with high humidity.
caging - Babies are fine in a 20g but adult basically need their own room or at least half a standard bed room.
length - They get 5-6 feet on average.
some pictures- I don't have any of my own. It was a long time ago. I am sure google or bing will help you though.

this is basically right.
only thing is the diet. Mostly dark leafy greens, like collard greens, mustard greens etc. Fruits should be used sparingly.
also, green iguanas should not be eating any kind of insects, mice, or any kind of meat.

Dennis is right.....just fresh veggies with a little fruit. Also, that commercially prepared food is a waste of time. I never used it.

iguana can live 20+ years. living in tropical areas they need alot of humidity around 80%. a male green iguana can be has heavy has 15 ponds. talking about MBD would be good also when your friend does his report cause alot of iguana owners dont give them the proper lighting. a diet for these green giants should be the following: 70% leafy greens, 15-20% veggies, 5-10% fruits and 5% or less in bread, rice, pasta, ect. also has a rare rare rare treat like on there birthday or christmas or something you can feed them yogurt even though they love the stuff it is animals protein and realy shouldnt be fed to them. cageing for a full adult male can be as small as 7 feet high 5 feet long and 5 feet deep all the way to a small spair bed room. with a female iguana they will become gravid every breeding season even with out a male so youll have to set them up a place for them to lay there eggs. they will aslo absorb them back into there body but relying on these is risky and can result in a death if all the eggs are not absorb. male iguanas will change colors in the breeding season from there normal green to a bright orange to show off to the females. males will become aggresive dureing this 2-3 month period. some VERY aggresive some you can hardly tell its breeding season but most will become fairly aggresive. on the cool side of the cage i keep mine at 85 and the hot side at 95. hmmm i think that should do it for you! hope this helps you!
