    what could happen?

i was cleaning cages and tubs yesterday so i could have clean cages for feeding today. took a couple bites from my ATB, nothing serious. so i was distracted by that and a half dozen phone calls from work with "problems".

heres what happened. i mistakenly put my male ball with my female over night. i noticed my mistake when i went to feed them. they were all stretched out along side of each other in the "proper" position. i didnt see a lock. which is good. my male is a stud. he likes the ladies. but the female is only 1000 grams and has never been offered a male before.

so i guess my question is do you THINK they locked and if they did how bad is that for my girl?

she wont take from that one pairing if she did lock... Takes time for her to build follicles and so on.

At her size she might not even be sexually mature to breed anyways. And at 1000g it woudlnt kill her, just put a lot of stress on her.

Even as small as 800 grams, a preggers female has a very good chance of being the perfect picture of health and laying just fine.

There are always risks with pregnancy, egg-binding of course is the most talked-about, and small size can statistically increase these risks, but if you want to take the word of someone on the internet who you've never met, I'd say any risks to your female are still extremely low, even if she did lock, and even if she does become pregnant.

Chances are that she isn't even sexually mature yet or have any follicles. They might have locked but the chance are really low. It would be low too if they did lock that she became gravid! All you can do now is wait and see!
