Which thermostat?
Ok, for you people out there with or without racks... what thermostats do you use? I have an animal plastics rack thats six levels and set up for belly heat. I have narrowed it down to two:
Helix DBS1000
Herpstat
What do you use? What are you happiest with and why? What should I buy?
Thank you

Both are amazing, I use a Herpstat and highly recommend. On the other hand I have not used Helix, but have NEVER heard anything bad. You can't go wrong with either.
I like the Herpstat because you just set it and it does it's own thing, it's proven to be safe, and it's remarkably accurate.

I have a helix and to be honest I'm not crazy about it. I get about a 3 degree swing on my incubator. I think I'm going to try a vivarium electronics from reptile basics. Have you looked at those?

I use the VE-300 from Reptile Basics Inc. http://www.reptilebasics.com/ve-300
I love it, it has built in night drop, 3 different alarms in case temps go crazy. Can power up to 50 ft of heat tape. It has a full lite digtal display for the menu.
If you want to spend the extra money, its a good choice.

I asked on here earlier about the vivarium electronics from reptile basics and no one had anything to say about it. I don't know anyone who uses them but RB seems positive about them- but then they would...so I don't know.
Has any one out there tried it?
