First Shed!
Well, pretty excited that my new bp had his first shed after having him about a month now. I saw him move to his cool hide last night and when I checked his warm hide this morning where he'd been camping out the last few days I found his shed along with droppings (first for that as well).
I spot cleaned his cage and used chlorhexidine to clean the glass of the tank so I think I'm all good on the clean-up.
Is there anything to check for after a shed to ensure he had a clean shed? I have a leopard gecko and I always have to check that none of the shed got left on his toes/tale/face after every shed. I didn't get a good look at him last night but will give him a closer look this evening.

Re: First Shed!
Be sure to check his eyes and tail to make sure all of the shed came off.

Yay!! Congrats!! It's always so exciting when they shed, I love how nice their colors look afterwards
I always check the tip of the tail and the head and neck area, those seem to be the areas that give them the most trouble. You'll be able to see any dry patches of old skin right away.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look him over tonight and if he has any remaining shed I'll give him a bath or put him in a damp pillowcase (need to read up what's best).
I was thinking about giving him a bath anyways since he just went to the bathroom and may have some waste on him.
Thanks again.

Re: First Shed!
Hi,
I always check the shed skin to make sure the spectacles are there - it's easier than trying to squint at the snake if it is in a mood.
