mice aren't anything compared to a rat getting you good...and asf's do a good job of inflicting pain as well i also would rather just get bit by my snakes other then a feeder rodent..

Yes. Not pleasant. When I was very young we lived near a feed store, so one day I walked down to the feed store and noticed a huge cage full of "feeder mice". They were only 99cents so I had to have one. Cute little "pet" mouse, but incredibly painful little bites. Not nearly as bad as guinea pig bites though.

not without protective gloves! Seriously, a great investment if you regularly work with live feeder rodents.

    Re: Mice hurt!!

nope & thank god. besides my girl eats rats.
my bf teases me cuz i'm getting more confident around my girl but im scared to death of having to touch the rats. he's like "it's only a little rat! just pick it up and put it in there (the snake's cage)."
i'm like "dude! if this thing gets ahold of me it's gonna take a chunk of me with it and i'm sorry i wanna keep every chunk of my skin thank you very much!"
frankie here has told me a couple times that he'd rather get bit by every one of his snakes then take a rat bite . now c'mon they MUST be bad if anyone's willing to take that many snake bites over 1 rat bite .
so, no thanks, , i want NO PART of getting bit by a rat.

Yeah my rat got me the other day. It really surprised me because she was so sweet. She was the only one that let me pick her up then for no reason at all (except pregnant and moody) when I putting in a cup of mixed treats she jump across the 10 gal tank and bit me. I jerked back before she got it too bad but it did bleed a bit and it still hurts. I think I will invest in some of those gloves.

Well, I can tell ya, I've been biten by a lot of animals. Tons of them. I breed almost everything. I'm 6', 270lbs. I won't even pick up teddy bear hamsters, I breed tons of them, and I absolutely hate them! The only animal I don't just reach in and grab. That being said, I'll reach in a pick up almost any other rodent. It's pretty funny, my wife makes fun of me all the time, that I'm a little sissy girl cause I won't pick up a wittle hamster.
