I'm going to watch this thread.... I too want to try it out becuz this is my first and only clutch ever so I don't want to mess anything up.

Me too!
I actually am going to order one tonight, next season I will only have one pair of balls ready to breed so for the size of the incubator it will be just fine.
Ive heard good things about it, saw it on a video from Snakebytes and its cheap, has a digital read of temp and humidity...seems like a good incubator for small clutches.

Yeah it seems good and I'm only planning on having one clutch next season too so it seems like a good deal so if anyone can let me and whoever else wants to know how it is that would be great so. Can start saving lol.

Before I set up my walk in closet incubator, I had a Hovabator. The problem I had with IT was, if you had a large clutch and it was laid high, and all the eggs were piled up and stuck together, the clutch would not fit. If this one is big enough, and you can put eggs in individual deli cups, I guess it would work.

My only concern with it, is that to keep the price so low the thermostat is most likely non-proportional. That's my speculation, but something to consider.

No need to speculate, it says right on the page...

"Pulse proportional thermostat for stable temperature regulation."

I still wouldn't use one but that's me, I prefer my home built ones to any you can buy

I just built my own first incubator out of a half size dorm fridge. I have used hovabators, and other types of incubators and BY FAR the incubator I just built is the best and it all cost 120.00 including the fridge, heat, tstat, shelving, fan everything I'm really happy with it. It took zero calibration. My other incubators including a hovabator needed to be fiddled with to get them right. If you have the time to save yourself some cash and do it yourself. Do it! After i got all the parts it took me an hour or two to set it all up and then a test run for a day and then eggs went right in to it. I love it. My biggest problem with the other incs was they held one clutch. I'm expecting 8-10 this year. There was no way I could hold that many and I wasn't going to buy another incubator. The diy incubator hold 20 clutches. Diy rules!

I have not used one but my first clutch was hatched out of an home made incubator. I used an ice chest I got from good will (about $5). some flex watt I had already bought, and a Johnson t stat. I even cut a window in the lid so I could peek in. The t stat was the most expensive part (but I already had it). The one I have now is a wine cooler I scored off craigslist, flex watt, a fan I got from a local used computer store and I have a Heprstat pro so I use one of the connections. I love it as you can see the eggs and the temp stays real steady.
