Got my first bite lol!

So my poor little Dante is in shed right now and all sorts of pms-ing, and when I went to change his water cause he pooped in it, he snuck out of his hide and tagged me before I even knew what happenend. He got me right over the top of my far back index knuckle. I didn't take any pictures because it didn't even bleed lol, there was just a little red mark. After it happenend I looked down at him and he hissed at me like "get the heck out or I'll do it again!" lol he thinks he so big and bad right now. He got my husband when he tried to feed him last night too. He struck at the mouse but missed and hit my husbands thumb instead. Again no blood just a little red mark, then he crawled in the corner and wouldn't come out, so we just put him back in his tank. I guess we'll have to wait till he's done shedding to try feeding again.

I was actually surprised at how little, if at all, that it hurt lol. It was kinda cute though, he was trying to be such a little tuff ass, then it was almost like he was pouting in the corner after I put the bowl back in the tank.

The first time there's blood I will definatly post some pics.

Ummm, congratz? :-) I have held wild caught rat snakes but luckily have never been tagged :-)

What a coincidence. I logged in to post the same thread. Well almost. My 10 year old son got tagged by the male pied we got bout two months ago. He was holding him and moved his hand in front of OZZY to scratch his arm and got tagged. There was a little blood. My son looked at me and laughed. Said it didn't hurt and said now he won't afraid If he strikes. We're working on getting the snake used to being handled in small doses. Didn't mean to hijack the thread

lol no worries, and congratz your son must be a trooper if he didn't even care. Most kids would have been terrified, and would have never wanted to hold it again.
