controlling more than one uth
Hope this is not a dumb question. If a thermostat has one probe and you attach it to your UtH how does it check the temps on your other uth's?

It doesn't, it only knows the one it's attached to.

If all the enclosures are the same, such as a tub rack (like mine) you place the probe on only one, and theoretically they should all be about the same. I check mine daily with my temp gun just to be sure, but if anything they are only a couple degrees different, if at all. If you have more than one type of enclosure, then multiple thermostats should be used.

Helix and Spyder Robotics Herpstat are pretty much the best ones IMO, but if you want to save a little money, Johnsons and Ranco seem like good units. I have a Johnsons for my quarantine area, and a Herpstat for my regular rack. Johnsons prewired are about 80 bucks. Also Reptile Basics has a new one out that seems decent for cheaper than the helixs, the VE-1 or something along those lines. I know someone who uses it and he says it seems to be doing great. Good luck.
