Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?

So far I have one female whos in her post ovy shed and one female with folicles out of 12 females. Not looking like the best year, but considering I moved (driving) from Seattle to Tampa in the middle of breeding season Ill be happy if any of my girls go.

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?

It is still early in the season... I don't start seeing ovulations till April and eggs not until May or June. All my girls have stopped eating and are building, I will start seeing ovulations in the next week or so... Patience is the name of the game as you will be doing a lot of waiting(waiting for ovul, waiting for eggs, waiting for them to hatch, waiting for them to get up to size, ect...).

The best piece of advise I got when I started was to write everything down. I have a note book with a section for all my females and keep notes on each one during breeding season. Info such as sheds, when they stop eating, odd behavior such as bowl wrapping/soaking/ laying on side or back ect. As this might not seem important now it is extremely helpful in following seasons. As most females will repeat the same behavior the following seasons and it helps me in knowing how far along and when they might be expected to ovulate and lay.

    So don't worry to much...
and hope everyone has a great season with great odds..

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?

I'm right there with you guys, I thought I was getting eggs. I was on the count down, she even did the pre-lay shed. I'm such a newbee that i mistook the ovy for the i'm preggers. Anyway I'm allot more knowing now and she's been locking up with a (spider male and she's a normal) for 2 days. My close friend that owns a reptile store gave me a hovabator, he's the man. So now I start the counts all over again. Good luck to all you guys

I agree with this. I do the same Thing! I have a three ring binder that I've got action logs in. Everyone has a page.

I have an excel spreadsheet with a page for each snake. Then I e-mail it to myself after I adjust it!

Funny you would mention this, I too have a notebook, I'm not gonna be caught with my pants down again and be counting for nut'n. No siree bob.... Now I KNOW!!! You can even palpate them to count how many follicles they have to know how many eggs to expect, yay!!! I counted 6 on my normal bred to a spider. Thank you for this it really does help us newbees allot.
