Question Moriarty my viv protective red tail boa

My 7 month old red tail boa Moriarty is still a little nippy as i have been told is normal. He is also very protective of his home I hold him and my husband cleans or switched around. When the person cleaning is doing his job Moriarty watches and will strike air in the direction of his home i have never put him in a tub but wonder if it would be better. Is this normal or is he just going to be picky about his home. I have also been taking him out with a small snake hook if i cant get behind him.

I have to put all of mine in a holding tub when I clean since I live alone. It's good that you are already hook training him while he is young. That way he gets used to the hook and you get to perfect your hooking technique for when it will eventually be needed...
