Ball python Striking at food
my ball python is striking at her food like saying get away from me?
whats going on is she stressed out? or is it normal for them to do that? shes been off food for 2 weeks
temps are 93 hot and 82 cool humidity is at 50 - 60%
i need some help!

Also she is not a adult either shes around 20 or so inches

what are u feeding?

Need more details, type and size of food? What is her enclosure like? Heating elements? Hides? That kind of stuff.

Tried adult mouse and weanling rat
also its in a ten gallon tank with a uth and infered heat light
identical hides on both sides on cypress and eco earth mix and covered three sides with paperbag

I don't see anything wrong. Might want to tweak your hot spot down to about 89-90 but being a few degrees over is not going to affect feeding. The only other thing I can think of, is she shedding soon?
If not what I would try is giving her a week of alone time. No handling, no traffic by her tank. Just a week for her to relax. Then try feeding again.

This sounds like the snake is doing defensive striking. Like what was already stated, just leave the snake alone for a week with no handling and feeding attempts.

Just on the off chance try a smaller food item a rat pink maybe. less threatening for the little one.

I will have to wait till my momma rat gives birth soon hopefully, its a pain to find live rat pinks around here
