I need help with heat cable.
OK i made a 6, 41qt tub rack that took me about 4 days. I have heat cable winding through the back of the rack system but my hot spot in the back of the 41qt is only at 80 degrees. I took the temp of the cable itself and its 104. I have 2 rows of holes drilled in the back of the tub but it isn't helping. any suggestions???

Are you attempting to use the heat cable as belly or back heat?

It sounds like back heat to me.
If you are using it as back heat you are going to have a lot of heat loss-there's way more air exchange with back heat than with belly heat. Can you turn your heat cable up anymore than that?
Also, the holes in tubs aren't for heat, they are for humidity. The more holes you put in the tubs the less heat you are going to hold in the tub, as well as less humidity. Holes are generally, if not always, put in the front of the tubs.
