Hints on when to first handle...

Hey guys, as some of you know, I just got my first ball this tuesday. I was wondering if there were and hints on when it was appropriate to first start handling your new ball. With cornsnakes the general rule is to give them a week, and I was wondering if there were any kind of rule of thumb for balls.

I think Tuna is getting comfortable in her new home. The temps are good, and humidity is just a tad high at 69 so I will have to pop some more holes in the lid.

I usually wait until 2 days after they eat for me. So a week and 2 day... I hate to wait.

That sounds like a pretty good rule

I normally get them in. feed them twice then start to handle 2-3 days after their second feeding.

I guess it all depends how impatient u are lol. I always like to wait 2 weeks...

As has been said: a hungry ball = a well acclimated ball. It's good to get them eating and be sure they're comfy in their new environment before adding the extra stress of handling. I'll handle new boas 2 days after their first meal, but that's because I've never had a boa with feeding issues. I like to get 2 or 3 meals into ball pythons before I start handling.
