Well you are in luck then

We are looking to be able to track back anything in your database. If you want to show the lineage of a certain female baby from '09, we will do our best to automatically show it. If you want to show the linage of an entire clutch, ie the sire and sows lineage leading up to that clutch, this will also be possible.

The hard part comes in when people breed multiple males to one female. How do we decide who won ? I know this is a minority of the cases but in coding those minorities cause all the issues

Hopefully we are able to come up with a solution to solve that issue and are able to present all the information in a way that will be readable. As it stands I am looking to have a family tree part of the application that you can either print a report on or click on the animals in the tree and go to their details. That sound like it would work for you?

The droid app will have the ability to scan the bar codes for use in that app. If you also have the desktop app you will be able to transfer data between the 2.

The desktop app will hold the DB and all your data. The web portion will read from this, it is your data you get to keep it We will add in some backup functions as well as restore but it will remain yours.

Re: BP/Snake Tracking app for Android

Any chance of a beta version coming out soon, or a semi-finished product that can be purchased and updated later?

I am sooo tired of Excel and paper/pen tracking.

heres how I would do it. when you chose what template to use, if you chose the one that has sire and dame, have a drop down option out of the males she was paired with
1.1 Het Albino Ball 1.0 Spider
    1.0 Mojave Ball 0.1 Pinstripe
    0.1 Honey Bee 0.2 Normal
1.0 Caramel 0.1 Mojave het Caramel

Re: BP/Snake Tracking app for Android

Ok everyone, here is the update I am sure you have been waiting on. We have a release schedule and Details on what the individual apps will contain.

We have a site for the application now and an associated blog we are updating.
    Simple Animal Tracker

I would like to move any discussions of costs to their so that we do not infringe on the forum rules here. They have been very kind to let me rattle on about this here and I do not want to cross any lines.

The site has a roadmap on it and will have detail pages for each component either later today or tomorrow. My internet keeps dying on me at home

We will also have a mailing list that you may sign up for on the site and a customer portal that will require a login. This portal will be used initially for our testers to get the beta release and leave feedback.

If you are interested in becoming a tester, I will post information on the site about how to sign up. Thanks everyone. I will watch this thread and the site so ask away wherever you feel more comfortable.

    What would you guys prefer?
You should be able to save the data to a gmail spreadsheet. That gives you the best of both worlds. You can access the data from anywhere and you can easily download a backup of that data.
