If she rescued it then it is her cat, her responsibility..

Put your foot down. Help her out even. If she's the type who won't do research to find a cheap place, do it for her. Search for low cost spay/neuter clinics in your city. A quick google search is all you need. Then pick the cheapest place after looking them over.

Tell your friend where to take her and even that you will make the appointment if she likes. Otherwise, the cat needs to find a new home.

You don't need to put up with that.

I hate to say it, but that's part of "rescuing" something. Anyone can take anything of the street and keep it in the same poor conditions without medical care. This does not constitute as a "rescue" to me.
It's ridiculous to pay for something when it's not 100% yours... the cat is going back to her owner once the school year is over. And she did rescue the cat because it was only living in a bathroom- now she has a full apartment to be "free" in... she is also getting fed and loved on a regular basis- except when I tell her I'm going to feed her to a snake.

I originally made this post to be humorous and vent- I was hoping other people would actually catch on to that.

Why would she give it back if the original owner kept it in a bathroom? Did you seriously think your post wouldn't get these types of replies? This isn't Facebook. This is a ball python/herps forum. Veteran members have been fighting against the bad press on snakes, snake bans, false info etc... For years!

To see something like this on our forum is more than likely going to cause people to shake their head and feel disappointment in the OP.

The community has actually gone very light on you considering.. Id put $$ on it that there is a large number of members that will not post here because they know their comments would get them infractions..

    Re: large snake needed....

Unfortunately it only takes one hot headed snakes hater to read a post like this out of context and make a huge deal about it. We all know no one feeds snakes cats but there are a lot of ignorant people out there.

And I feel for you! Our Dane is in heat and a total pain in the butt! She whines all day .

I have no idea... I have no idea why we have the cat. I disliked the cat before she went into heat-

before she was in heat all she would do is jump on the table and counters and somehow figured out how to jump on top of the fridge... not to mention, when my roomie opens her door it smells like a litter box.

    :

sorry if i caused a commotion... but i definitely know what it's like to own a misunderstood creature... i used to own rats. they get a bad rap too... only difference is that they don't have the potential to severely injure an inexperienced handler. some people think they still carry the plague and are dirty vermin.

Well.....I found humor in your post! But, I also see where some would be offended. I'm allergic to cats....so, guess I really don't care for them. I love watchin them run when I let my pitbull out to relieve himself. I just hate stray animals.....when I moved in the animal control showed up. I figured I was going to get a fine for having a pitbull in the city. Nope, he asked me if I'd keep a eye on his traps and call him when cats where trapped.

Yea, I was going to say my peace. But seeing as im 80/100 points, i dont need anymore. Havent had any in a long time. Trying to keep it that way.

At the OP I will say this. Joke about it now, But when u cannot own a snake due to the bad rep the reptile community has and bills are passed, do not complain.
