Snake weight and weighing questions.
Just out of curiosity, about how much should a 4 month old male bp weigh? Also where can i buy a proper scale that I'll be able to use even when he's bigger and that won't cost me too much. Thanks!

I would say some where in the 130-200g neighborhood. But thats a really rough guess. To be honest with ball pythons size and weigh cannot define age. It all depends on your husbandry and how you are feeding the ball python,Obviously a ball python being feed bigger prey items on a frequent basis will be bigger than one being feed small prey items on less frequent. How fast the snake grows is kind of in the owners hand,it depend on how you are feeding him.But aslong as he is eating good and not showing any signs of ilness there is nothing to worry about.
I brought my digital scale from lllreptile
http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/...compact-scale/
They have it one reptile basics even cheaper than what i paid
http://www.reptilebasics.com/my-weig...tal-scale.html
But i see cheap scales all the time in walmart and other stores similar to it,you can probably find one for about $25 if you look hard enough.
Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We'll run on our own legs. - Kiba "Wolf's rain"

There is no right answer there are too many variable, such has size out of the egg, how fast the animal was started, prey size, feeding frequency, whether or not the animal skips meals etc.
As long as your snake is and look healthy and is gaining weight than that's what really matter.

Re: Snake weight and weighing questions.
He was recently a bit dehydrated when I got him but now he's doing better and eating a small mouse every 4 to 5 days so I'm hoping he'll gain the weight back that he lost. It's probably a good idea just to get a scale now anyway since I'm sure I'll want one eventually. I'm guessing based on what people have said that he's just a generally small baby and not underweight anymore. He doesn't look skinny at all anymore like he did when he wasn't eating.
