She saw him at a show in September and liked him but couldn't get him at the time. I held him for her. If her mother lets her get him, I am gifting him to her.

That's awesome. I hope your mom changes her mind! I was lucky, my folks let me keep whatever critters found their way into our house... 25+ years later I'm still keeping snakes.
