    What should I get?

So I'm getting my first two snakes (hopefully) next week. They're both little males, one's a Mojave, the other is a het Clown. I'm also hopefully picking up a mature normal female a couple weeks after that.

What I was planning to get shortly after that I'm not sure. There's a breeder with a het albino sale 1.2 for $300, or there's a Lemon Blast male for $400(he's got one eye smaller than the other, same breeder I'm getting my males from). There are 3 pairs of the het albinos, but only one of the lemon blast, and I'm not likely to find a deal like that again.

If I'm correct, if I went the Albino route I could make:

    Albinos
    Albino Clowns
    Albino Mojaves
    Clowns
    Mojaves
    BEL

But if I were to get the lemon blast, I could make:

    Pastel
    Super Pastel
    Pastel Mojave
    Super pastel mojave
    Pastel Clown
    Super pastel clown
    Lemon Blast
    Super Blast

    Mojave
    BEL
    Jigsaw
    Pastel Jigsaw
    Jigsaw Blast
    Clown
    Pinstripe

down the road without buying more snakes, other than a couple females.

I'd be buying normal females if i were to get the Lemon Blast boy, and I'd be a month or two off buying him if he's still for sale. He's a really nice looking one too IMO

Which way would you go? (i'm sure I forgot a couple morphs in there aswell lol)

I will get the lemon blast, especially for that price.

If you are only going to have one het clown then anything you produce with it will only be 50% possible het clown. You can't sell any of those babies as hets. Then you would have to keep all babies, grow them up, and breed them back to eachother and the het clown to find out which are actually het. That being said, even the ones that are 100% het may not prove out in the first breedings. You're looking at about 6 years or more of breedings before you get the combos you want that are clown and you can prove out at least 2 generations of babies in the process.

If you want clown combos, it would be much easier and make more sense to get co-doms that are 100% het clown as well.

Otherwise, just concentrate on the co-dom combos and breed the het albinos together to try for albinos. Then breed visual albinos to co-doms and get co-dom babies that are 100% het albino.

    Re: What should I get?

Turns out that Lemon Blast is already sold, so that's out. I was thinking about it and the het albinos are cheap, but add in the 2+ years till those girls mature, then all the unwanted snakes I'll produce to get albinos, and the cost of feeding them...I'm just gonna spend the $1,000 and get an Albino female at some point. I got the het clown male because if/when I can find a het clown female, I'll breed them, keep the clowns they produce, then re-sell them.

The only Het I'm likely to buy now is an axanthic.

I've got 2 males on my list to buy at some point a pied and a super pastel.
Then 6 females a butter, albino, Enchi, cinnamon, pinstripe, and het axanthic. And if I don't get any spider babies from my female this year then I'll add a spider to it. Don't have the cash but I gotta figure out what girls are next on my list.

The butter, pinstripe, het axanthic and Enchi could all make combos with the males I currently have. The het Axanthix is only 66%, but she's the only axanthic anything I've seen for sale. Also nearly 500grams, so she's a step ahead of the other girls in age, and the cheapest. I need the butter to make BEL though. Or I could scrap all the other girls for my buy list next year and get a pastel het clown female....which would mean I would spend $1,200 on 1 snake or $500 on a super pastel male and $300 on a het clown female, but I might need the super pastel male still.....

How the hell do you focus on doing one thing when you have to take into account you need to plan ahead 3 years for other projects!! I'm confusing myself lol

Buy what you like and let the chips fall where they may. Plans change and things don't work out....
