How do you tell?
I have had many BP's but I never realized there were so many different kinds. How do you know what exact kind of bp you have? I assume the new one I have is a Monty Python. It was on the cage so wasn't sure if that was the name given or what.
The young one I have (in my avatar) I haven't a clue as to what kind she is. I knew about Albino ones but since I joined here, I couldn't believe how many different ones there really were!
2 ball-pythons (Monty) & not sure about the other one, thought it was female but guess he was too young to tell then. Hubby's coming up with the new name. lol
3 inside cats and more then I can count outside
1 inside dog and 2 outside
Lots of chickens
1 pig
3 White Pekin Ducks

It looks like a normal ball python to me. Monty just might be his name. You would more than likely know if it were a morph of some sort. Check out this website, it has a lot of morphs on it.

The BP in the avatar pic looks like a Normal BP (and there is nothing wrong with that). I think you'd know if you had a BP morph as they cost more since they are rare genetic mutations. If you bought your BP from a pet store you can be almost sure its a Normal BP. Pet stores rarely sell morphs and if they do they tend to sell them for much more (hundreds more) than you could buy from BP breeder.
Also as Domepiece said check out the World of Ball Pythons website which has a big list of BP genetic morph names with pics that show the pattern. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/
If you really want a good book of BP morphs check out John Berry's book which pretty much a BP morph encyclopedia. http://www.bigreptileworld.com/desig...s-2010-1-p.asp

If you bought it as some sort of morph. Once you do some research/looking at pictures of morphs it's really easy to pick out morphs from normals. Yours is a normal

Re: How do you tell?
The best thing I ever did was go to a show. Then you can see them up close. Most morphs its easy to tell what it is by the patterns and colors, it's when you start mixing them up things get confusing. Like a 4 morph combo.
I like Nerd's morph site better. But, it doesn't list nearly as many as world of ball pythons. Which is why i find it easier to navigate. And I love that he uses big pictures as the link to the info. http://www.newenglandreptile.com
